Today my landlady made her daughter let me use her son’s ipad while they’re here, so I can finally chat on here while I wait for my laptop issues to be sorted. I’ve ben getting really frustrated being unable to chat and having to make only quick posts with her phone. But now I’m really upset and frustrated as I’ve been robbed online twice today. Due to my current living situation, I asked mutual aid to send me a justeat gift card. Two people did, thank you so much. I used the final bit today to order lunch. It didn’t arrive and was eventually marked as delivered. How is this even possible without the driver having the delivery code? They’ve just taken the money and not delivered the food. I contacted their customer services but who knows if they’ll even get back to me.
I had a sainsburys gift card previously, which I converted to online coupons. Basically you put the gift card code into your sainsburys account, it converts to an online coupon and you can then spend it on the website and get food delivered. I had broken the gift card amount down into several small amounts in coupons so I could order a small amount on several occasions. Today I logged in, and all the coupons are gone, just vanished with no explanation. I contacted their customer services but who knows when they’ll get back to me or what they’ll do about it.
So now I’m totally without means to get food and trapped alone in this house with my landlady’s creepy and very smelly husband, while all the others have gone out. I don’t even want to leave my room.
EDIT: I thought everyone here knew me by now, but apparently not. Someone is wondering why I’d have food delivered if asking for mutual aid. Yes, I am disabled after having a stroke, partially sighted so can’t drive and can’t walk properly either, nearest bus stop is over half a mile away. My landlady isn’t currently driving me anywhere due to having her guests here. So I am housebound until Friday. It’s an actual necessity to get food delivered right now. Same reason I converted what remained of my last sainsburys gift card to coupons so I could get it delivered. Normally my landlady would just drive me to sainsburys.
I hope customer service can help in both these situations. Usually when I have problems with door dash or grub hub they give me some more back in compensation, fingers crossed for you.
I hope so, but I’ve heard only bad things about justeat and refunds. I just don’t understand how the driver marked it as delivered without the delivery code.
Sending good karma your way
thank you.

Is it possible they accessed the code through your account? I would change your login info, or maybe create a new account entirely. If the code was emailed to you, you may need to resecure your account.
Right, account compromise would also explain the missing coupons
Can they do this? I will change the password.
Yeah, data leaks can happen so updating your passwords every now and then is a good idea.
That happened with Grubhub for me recently. They even needed a code, too. No idea what happened.
Did you get a refund?
I did luckily.
Definitely sucks to seemingly have been scammed twice in a row.
I do wonder why, if asking for mutual aid, you’d choose food to be delivered? Unless you’re physically disabled, if you’re asking for financial aid, you should probably avoid delivery fees… Not trying to be rude, just imagining myself in the same situation. It’d make more sense to save $5+ for my next meal than to get it “asap” (and risk delivery driver theft).
I have written about this in my mutual aid post. Normally I ask for supermarket vouchers. However I am currently in an unpleasant situation for the next week where my landlady isn’t driving me anywhere (I am disabled and can’t walk properly due to having had a stroke, which also left me partially sighted so I can’t drive either) and I am trying not to be downstairs in the kitchen or anywhere for the next week due to my landlady’s creepy husband being here until Friday. I am just trying to stay in my room and survive the next week like this.
Yeah my bad, I just stumbled upon this on my all feed and felt like interacting. Didn’t know anything about you or post history. So I apologize for being out of touch.
Protip: look at the username of the person you’re replying to for clues about their situation
Okay that’s understandable, but I don’t think most people use their names to describe the situation they’re in (you and I for example), so that wasn’t my first thought. Will try to take that into consideration next time.
It’s still a good habit to get into, it can also give you clues about their pronouns, background, etc
