Every day smoker basically since Covid. It’s gotten to a point where it’s fucking with my head too much, I have a lot of trouble focusing and thinking clearly or finding motivation to do much besides sit around and play video games.
Haven’t smoked since Sunday and I feel like ass. It feels like there’s a swarm of bees in my brain. My arms and legs feels tingly and twitchy. I’ve basically been having a panic attack the last 72 hours that my Xanax hardly helps.
Anyone have tips to feel less shitty during this? Or just encouragement even? I know it’ll fade over time but fuck this sucks so bad.

It’s quite a big step to identify, acknowledge and accept that an activity has turned from leisure into addiction. Just remember that there is a huge difference between “lol i gotta stop smoking” and “I want to make changes for the better”. It may not seem huge but you haven’t smoked in four days. Even if you light up tomorrow you could say that you actively chose to not smoke for 96 hours and you should be proud of that, brain bees be damned.
What’s so special about 120 hours? 96 hours wasn’t easy but you did it. What happens at 144 hours? 168?
There’s no right or wrong way to tackle addiction but in my life I’ve learned that finding new perspectives on a problem can be a force multiplier for willpower.
That being said I’m proud of you. Good job.
That actually really helps, thank you. Thats a really good way of thinking about it.
