Just a thought
Give back to society? I’m suspicious of anyone with a lot of clout, money and power under capitalism. I’ve seen the kind of shit this sick society rewards.

It’s funny how our society tells on itself sometimes. There was basically a never ending news story in the 2010s about the Chinese debt trap, and that everything to do with Belt and Road, loaning money to poorer countries to build infrastructure, was really a predatory scam to trap them into taking more and more loans just to make the interest payments, and steal their resources as part of the conditions of repayment (and we’d know, since the IMF exists to do just that)
But then that never happened, and now it’s a decade later and there’s just a bunch of functioning ports , roads , rail lines and other infrastructure in those countries, and many of them are now installing massive new green energy grids on top of that since China made Solar and Wind power so cheap.
china took control/ownership of a couple things that hogs wouldn’t shut up about, but mostly forgave a shitload of debt when repayment issues came up
They took control of some of the means of production, and created some tax havens/immigration centers. Pretty mild things all things considered. Much different than just giving the government money and then just watching them squirrel it away.
It worked because westerners are already conditioned by their own neoliberalism to not expect anything to get built by their own lifetime.
The idea of loaning money to build things is preposterous, wouldn’t the government just pocket all the money?
My experience of corporate life has taught me the majority of people who rise to the top are backstabbing grifting no scruples having asses and caring about people or your work gets you punished. Anyone who does accidentally get there by being a good person somehow is ground to nothing in a year and they either discard their souls or quit.
Glory to the losers!
It’s the year of the NEET doe/puppy/kittygirl, many are saying it…
I wish, sadly in order to afford to live I have to support capitalism. Even as an ecologist its mostly been greenwashing shit I have to be a part of. I’m tired boss.
Maybe I can move to China one day and actually do real environmental restoration

Year of the horsegirl.
I wouldnt “necessarily” say that. Theres a whole lot of pure luck involved as well into getting rich for many people. Like you could have just gotten some bitcoins years ago and boom. Even if you are say a talented artist or athlete theres still a fuckton of luck involved.
Not saying the elite of society doesnt get there through exploitation.
Just that you can make bank or real money by pure luck and that is legit. Take many early youtubers for example.
I’d go as far as to say that I don’t think you make a bunch of money without it. I’ve seen multiple perfectly competent people with a bunch of money and connections not have the right connections. I saw someone else who got a bunch of money charging a fuckload for some service in Medicare. They nearly lost it all and then did lose a bunch of it for being a piece of shit. I had a guy tell me that I should start selling bullshit licenses and he was doing intensely well.
If they get really rich by luck and keep it all though, I still think they’re bad. If I won the lottery or something I would just keep enough to guarantee a decent roof over my head and all bills paid for life, and give the rest away.
Thats noble of you. I “think” I wouldnt. Unless we are talking like an obscene amount of money.
Like if I got “just” a million. thats just enough to buy one really nice place for myself and my brother and I would keep the rest of the money for my family and myself
Yes, I do mean an obscene amount of money. Half million nowadays would jut about buy a nice house and some left over to live off.
Least problematic successful people are athlete celebrities who use their titles and trophies to shill for various corporate products. But even they have plenty of skeletons in their closet like how the idea of them being a poor kid who made it big is largely a myth.
