…Infact most of why she calls my sibling is for the purpose of hounding them for money.

For context: We’re all dirt fuck poor.
The whole “stop wasting money on frivolous things!” is bourgeois propaganda, but I mean come on now. CONCERTS HAVE PRECEDENT OVER CAT FOOD!?

When I was 18 I inherited $1000 when a relative passed away. I had never had any amount of money in my life before and was going to use it to buy my first car. Parents wanted to build a pool at their new house. Asked to borrow the 1000 dollars to build the pool fence on the condition that they would pay it back. They never payed it back.
Valuable lesson about large sums of cash learned 😔

I got super depressed and bailed out of college for a bit. I got a job and bought a used car. My parents said they’d finish the remaining payments and pay insurance on my car during the school year if I went back to college. I had to pay my own way if I wanted a dorm since they live an hour’s drive away from the university and believe that’s a reasonable commute, but I did because my parents are awful to be around. They made me leave the car at their house and demanded that I stay with them over the weekends.
I came back the second weekend to discover they’d sold my car and pocketed the cash. I stopped going home on the weekends shortly thereafter.
Is your mum a boomer? A lot of boomers seem to demand money from their kids constantly while spending frivolously.
She’s gen X, but honestly it doesn’t really matter very much.
She’s still physically and emotionally abusive.
Boomers and Gen X are pretty alike. I see them all the time taking money from their kids who can’t afford it.Eh, I know this one boomer. He’s actually genuinely a cool guy!
Yeah that’s the thing: There was a bunch of boomers and gen x people here in the US who were good people!
But the CIA and FBI saw to them, and most of them that weren’t killed or thrown in jail either supported the status quo, eventually succumbed to liberalism, or were genuinely bad people rotten to their core.
