      The Porsche 997 is the sixth generation of the Porsche 911 sports car.

        yeah, porsche 911 generations are named like that, the fifth generation is called the 996, the seventh is called 991 though

          And the current generation is the 992, but they can’t call the next generation the 993 because that was fourth generation (which ended in 1998)! I thought Germans were supposed to be OCD about orderly numbering sequences.
