    so on the one hand I understand that photographing food is notoriously difficult. there’s a whole science to it for fast food advertisements and stuff where they have to grill the patty a certain way and arrange the ingredients in a specific way in order to both satisfy the truth and advertisement requirement while also making the picture look good.

    on the other I would prefer a yellowing picture of a poorly lit greasy burger to slop.

    one of my local hole in the walls has a big AI generated sign out front. they used to have a hand-painted slab of wood. it’s a one of the first things you see when you drive into my town and it suuuuuuucks.
