And now we watch as Christians vote to destroy God’s creation in order to drive vroomier pick-up shit wagons.
Their goal is to bring about the end of days so that they can all be saved and go to heaven. They are literally trying to end the world.
This is not an exaggeration. They literally don’t care about the world because “we’re all going to heaven anyway.” I have relatives that have said as much.
Like sometimes I can envy the people who believe this shit, how simple a life you must live… So carefree and understanding of others, to let people live their own lives how they want knowing in the end we all get to go to some magical place forever…
This reason is why I laugh about Israel lining up behind the American right wing. Like you guys know what Israel is for according to the bible, right?
I have no clue, because never reading the bible thoroughly because of being an atheist and all. I did a quick search and found something about being model nation under god and fully embracing the Messiah as a nation. But not sure what you refer to.
Something along the lines of the second coming of Christ happens (or first coming of the Messiah if your are Jewish) when a major war breaks out in the Middle East around Israel. It is related to Christian Zionism.
The problem is of course this has already happened numerous times in history. So they are basically full of shit.
Thanks for the explanation
It’s the site of the final apocalyptic battle before rapture
Thanks for enlightening me
I kind of advocate sending them to heaven sooner tbh
And now they got their hands on nukes again, yeeeeiiiii
Maybe they just think the sooner the planet is destroyed, the sooner they’ll be rescued from the rapture.
Is there any way to get them to realize if there’s a hell, this is how they gain admission?
I think they didn’t read the book :/.
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’
Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’” Matthew 25:41-45 (ESV)
““Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21 (ESV)
Not these psychopaths.
Jesus is their savor, and they will shoot you in the face to prove it.
Hell, they’ll elect the antichrist to prove it.
Force them to take a class where they read the Bible?
I talked to a Jehovah Witness and he said he’d have voted for trump because God sent him…
Nope they genuinely think that the only reason we’re having these weather events is because there’s NOT ENOUGH carbon in the atmosphere.
They are spreading 666 particles. They think God is going to forgive them for willingly spreading hell mass?
They do be that stupid!
It’s definitely more of a ‘The Rapture is coming! The Rapture is coming!’ Type of nonsense.
At this point there just worshipping the golden calf. They’re not Christians anymore.
Come on now. They wouldn’t…
Oh right.
Jesus rolls coal.
It’s time for the world community to start treating the United States as an environmental, economic, and military threat. We are not a partner. We don’t value the wellbeing of anyone, be they in other countries or our own for that matter.
They just need to “Under the Dome” the whole country.
Yeah, but we have big trucks so than we can coal-roll and burn rubber all day long…
It’s up to the rest of the world now. We can’t put climate action on hold for four years in hopes that a new administration will take over in 2029 that will lead the world in the transition away from fossil fuels.
The world has gotten very used to US leadership since the end of WWII, but that era is over. Maybe it should have ended a long time ago, but now it must. The US can’t lead anymore, we lack the competency, efficacy, and morality to lead the world. Someone else is going to have to captain the ship.
I think it’s important that America’s replacement not be just the next most powerful nation. I think it’s time for democracy to go global. We need the nations working together, instead of a single nation dominating the world through military might and economic control. The violent hegemonic orders of the past must be replaced with a global democratic order, based on inclusion, cooperation, and the consent of the governed.
Edit: I realized that I need to explain what I mean when I say that someone other than the US needs to take the leadership role in the transition away from fossil fuels. Climate action in an individual country is a very good thing, and very necessary, but climate change is a global problem. It’s great that countries are taking steps to reduce their own GHG emissions, but unless such action is taken everywhere it’s not going to be sufficient. GHG emissions have to reach net zero everywhere, not just in a few, relatively wealthy European countries. That will require cooperation and collaboration between nations, and I think that will require leadership. The US cannot be relied upon to lead that effort, so someone else is going to have to.
On hold? That’s very optimistic of you.
Trump repealed 112 environmental regulations in his first term, during a pandemic, without preparation, rolling us back to the Bush Administration in multiple categories.
I think we’re going to go backwards again, most likely at a faster rate than his last term.

It may need to be the EU. I know the EU isn’t a nation, but as a block perhaps Europe has the power and influence to lead the effort. Maybe a new entity needs to be established, a global union of nations. Or maybe a union of continents. Maybe each continent should establish its own union of nations (I think every continent already has some kind of union of one type or another) and then have a global union of continents. I don’t necessarily know the best course of action, all I know is the US cannot lead.
I think the real problem that no one in the US is prepared to deal with is we are the bad guys in almost every situation. Once you peel off the thin veneer of freedom and supposed rights you are left with a militaristic corporate oligarchy. One that regularly uses and abuses human beings.
It is no surprise we played both sides before being involved in WWII. Powerful influential people from the US helped bank roll the Nazi party.
Then when this poison tree bore fruits the Nazi came to the US and other countries asking that we take the Jews.
The same people who backed the Nazi party in the US said hell the fuck no and doomed the Jews to die.
Then we go in killing a shit ton of innocent civilians and declare we are good guys. That’s right the people who helped create the Nazi and deny the Jews safety are the good fucking guys. Unfucking believable.
The truth behind the US is so ugly no one can truly face it. This is just one story in the book of fuckups we have perpetrated around the world.
It’s up to the rest of the world now. We can’t put climate action on hold for four years
Incredibly ignorant US-centric thought. What the actual fuck do you think we’ve been doing the last decade while you’re driving about in your tiny-penis truck?!? 😂
I’m very aware that other countries have been taking climate action, much more than the US, in many cases. I didn’t say the rest of the world needed to start doing anything related to climate, as if they had been up until now doing nothing, I said they needed to take LEADERSHIP. And if you’re going to claim that the world hasn’t been looking to the US for leadership on climate action, you’re either an idiot or a liar.
True, although most countries also didn’t improve as much as they should.
We’re in an economical prisoner dilemma here…
And when a country says, “fuck it, we’re going for short term profits”, the upcoming cost due to climate change will get distributed to pretty much every country.
Just like the bailout shit. Profits for cooperations, costs for the public.
Same shit again, just on a larger/worldwide scalealthough most countries also didn’t improve as much as they should.
Its even worse than that. Literally nobody has done as much as needs to be done.
And far too many (at least in my country) seem to be saying “we are such a small drop in the ocean compared to (insert larger country here), so why should we go first?”.
It’s frustrating to see how badly we’re fucking our children and grandchildren through laziness, denial and greed.
Oh please let’s not pretend like every country isn’t plagued by this, our society’s best motto is money over everything including the future.
This will mainly hurt the American industries. The rest of the world is moving on, whether or not USA is on board.
My concern is for the planet. The US is by far the largest contributor to climate change if you account for the additional emissions from US manufacturing in China. We can’t afford this move backwards.
Earth will be just fine.
True. I meant most life. The planet will balance itself once we’re all dead.
Right? Its just that biological, carbon-based shit on it that’s gonna get cooked. This old rock is gonna be just fine. 🥹
That is why they said “we”
Meh. The U.S. probably are also going to be one of the most affected and if Trump enacts all his economic ideas, the U.S. Economy will tank HARD, meaning the contribution to climate change will shrink regardless.
Increasing dependency on cheaply made imported goods only increases the emissions from production by nations with lower regulations. Couple that with emissions from increased trade, and I’m not as sure that economic hardship would reduce the US footprint in a noticeable way.
That’s a valid point, but i think it’s mute. There are pretty much two options, soviet, planned economic style or further open capitalism. The U.S. doesn’t have all resources and the world moves on without the U.S. if it has to. Not only that: Most of the innovation comes from progressive states. If those people just pack up and go somewhere else, things are looking rather bleak for increasing trade. So if there’s nobody to be able to pay for it and nobody to design it…things aren’t going to increase anything, they are going to decrease “all around”.
The iconic international climate treaty - the Paris Agreement - includes a pledge to try and keep temperatures from rising by more than 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.
So how are countries doing on sticking to 1.5C or below? Well, not very well. Just last month the UN warned that current climate policies put the world on track for 3.1C of warming by 2100.
Probably going to need to be some change from the current trajectory, if so.
If only we knew Trump would do something like this…
https://2017-2021.state.gov/on-the-u-s-withdrawal-from-the-paris-agreement/
…again.
Eh, the ocean taking Florida will be a net gain for humanity. I’m looking forward to watching all those republican voters lose their houses.
Anyone with half a brain was looking at projected sea level rise before buying a house, so… ya. Byeeeeee Florida, you won’t be missed.
I get what you’re saying, but I’ve lived my entire life in Florida and I’ve never been a supporter of conservative policies. I didn’t vote for climate change and I’m certainly not in support of of repealing policies to at least slow it down. Me and my family are going to suffer from this just the same. I understand you want to feel the joy at the suffering of climate change deniers, but there’s a lot of people here who don’t deserve what we’re going to get. A lot of us may not have the ability to just leave and go elsewhere and are going to suffer anyway. Unfortunately, the people who most deserve what they get have enough money to escape it and aren’t going to suffer the consequences.
It’s true. You don’t deserve what’s happening. You put up a good fight, and now you’re hosed. I’m so sorry this is going to happen to you. I sincerely hope you find a way out.
If you fully expect to lose everything you have at some point then why would you wait until that happens to act? You won’t have a choice at that point so do something now and save what you can.
No one uproots their life, says goodbye to lots of friends you probably won’t see again, switches jobs, takes the kids out of school and subjects them to losing their entire social life right now, just because the risk of flooding is increasing within the next 30 years.
Saying that the whole state will definitely be underwater is a significantly stronger statement than “the risk of flooding is increasing”. Still, people move somewhere else every day for reasons a lot more trivial than either.
Get out if you can. People are willing to help. I know that these are empty words from an internet weirdo. Please, these hurricanes are going to be worse.
Move away from the coasts, and places prone to drought. The wildfires rage on the West Coast.
The northeast might have to deal with snow, but it’s been less and less every year. Yay global warming!?
I live in a conservative area in a blue state. Would be nice to see some of those chuds complaining about migrants from the other side of the country actually have to deal with climate refugees.
But according to Ben Shapiro they can just sell their houses and move!
Everybody who is signed up to it should impose tariffs or sanctions on those who are not.
Hey c’mon - it’s either save the world for our descendants or make sure a handful of corporate executives, stockholders and bankers are able to afford more houses and bigger yachts. The choice is obvious, right?
.
Providing he doesn’t become a dictator, which is certainly probable, his impacts on the environment will be bad, but not catastrophic.
Historically, when the incumbent is out, the president flips to the other party. Businesses plan strategy out for 5-10-20 years. Trump dismantling regulation won’t force them to reconsider their strategy entirely. They’ll use the 4 years as breathing room knowing it’s probable a democratic executive will return in 2029. They’ll slow walk progress, but they aren’t going to abandon everything and start ramping up emissions. They still have to sell products in CA and the 16 states that follow CA emissions rules. We already saw that in 2016, auto makers stayed the course. They enjoyed the extra time to get their fleet MPGs up, but they knew time would eventually out and they’d need to be competitive when that happened.
Trumps “drill baby drill” plan sounds good to idiots, but oil is still subject to supply and demand. They already lease more land than they could ever use. They’ll use trump to buy up leases that would otherwise go to renewables, but they aren’t going to start pumping oil past demand and driving their profits down. Especially considering retaliation tariffs could cut into exports as well.
The IRA benefits red states more than blue and they are already begging GOP leaders to leave it alone. Trump might be able to cut individual tax credits for the middle class. Slow some solar and EV purchases, buy that’ll cut into Elon’s business as well, so maybe he won’t even get that done.
Of course, if he goes full dictator, we’re fucked anyway. But if he stays within the confines of our flawed democracy, and money prefers he do so they can continue to buy laws forever, then there’s a chance his damage will be confined as well.
Man, I hope whatever being out there that’s fucking with us hears this, and it’s not just grade-A hopium.
Just let him know it’s eight years old and he’ll stay in there until completion.
It’s not like he’ll have to fight Epstein over this one
Who cares if Extreme Weather Events happen more Frequently under Trump! It’s not like he’s going to completely ELIMINATE things like FEMA!
Or NOAA. Good luck knowing when the next hurricane is coming to hit you, Floridiots.
Who needs NOAA? We have Donald Trump with a Sharpie.

Wait until the US finds out about CBAM.
