Summary

Donald Trump defended his sweeping new tariffs—including a 104% levy on Chinese goods—despite market turmoil and a historic sell-off in U.S. Treasuries.

Speaking to Republicans, he claimed manufacturing is returning to the U.S., repeating, “I know what the hell I’m doing.”

China responded with an 84% tariff on U.S. goods, intensifying a trade war that tanked global markets.

The S&P 500 nears bear territory, and JPMorgan raised global recession odds to 60%. Critics warn of inflation, declining investor confidence, and deepening economic instability.

Narrator: he did not, in fact, know what the hell he was doing.

I mean, I’m not 100% opposed to some of the things he claims he’s trying to accomplish. But I’m not what you’d call an expert on the topic, and I might have some bad ideas about how the economy works. But even if I’m not barking up the wrong tree, the things he’s doing are not how you accomplish the things he says he wants to accomplish.

Why do we keep electing stupid old men to office?

Why do we keep electing stupid old men to office?

Because the majority of the USA is also stupid. Most people in this country lack proper education. Hell even colleges pump out degrees that are there to make money.

It’s not just a lack of education. There’s a mentality that a lot of burgerlanders have that breeds arrogance and stupidity just at a base inherent level.

Media literacy is the key thing missing.

Too many “smart people” drank the fox news Kool aid, believing somehow that they were unbiased news…

Yes. Unbiased fox… The people that talk in terms of “we” when discussing Republicans/conservatives. The people that NEVER have one single good thing to say about a Democrat or “the left” unless it’s because they were siding with Trump/GOP. The people who’s only standard is “follow whatever the GOP is saying RIGHT NOW” even if that means contradicting what you just said a handful of weeks/months ago (Before election: Trump is the president of peace. Now: Maybe we should stop being nice and take Greenland by force if necessary.)

        Unbiased… Riiiiiiight.
