Is it just me? Or has the left wing online media been pretty lackluster on covering the Kirk assassination?
Half of them took a week to get anything out. Even then the coverage has been meek at best.
I understand not wanting to draw the ire of the raging children in office, but like cmon, get a little backbone.
Best I’ve seen is TruAnon but even that was late. Anyone know of any left wing media people that have been a little more proactive and timely?
I think thats because Kirk wasnt really interesting or important to any leftists. He was as generic as the conservative movement is at any one time. Hes said lots of evil and sadistic shit but none of it was really that far beyond or pushing new boundaries to the movement as a whole.

What would the left-wing media even say that the liberal media hadn’t? There’s no particularly good way to spin his death leftistly, and Kirk just isn’t very relevant.

Sure, some of the big networks are glazing, but a bunch of liberal outlets aren’t.
Newsweek started posting about Groypers soon after the shooting and they posted about the gun death quote, Daily Kos been calling him a bigot and talking about how he got himself killed, there’s JImmy Kimmel (and some of his fellow hosts), Buzzfeed made a listicle of Charlie Kirk quotes, and Slate compared it to the Reichstag fire. There’s more, but just those probably have a bigger reach than any left-wing media, since the left is tiny.
Ultimately, I think giving Charlie Kirk more attention is counter-productive. Very few minds will change, at best Republicans will outrage farm with it.

Yeah I’m not really sure what he’s looking for here. Outside of it being used as an excuse to ruin people’s lives for not shedding crocodile tears over it I’m already pretty sick of hearing about it.

Chapo, QAA and TrueAnon all covered it. QAA recorded their episode before the shooter was even found and Liv had to add a whole section in post to talk about him

Which left wing media? I’ve seen a disappointing amount of people grifting and joining the liberal whitewashing eulogy thing or trying to use it strategically to blame Israel, which doesn’t bother me at all. Even though it normalizes the usually right wing conspiratard form of “analysis”. Maybe I’m just coping after seeing Galloway saying that Kirk was about to turn against Israel, that he was “presidential” and basically he’d turn into some reincarnated JFK so he had to be taken out early because he was such an important rising star with almost the right ideas. Can’t bear to think that this absolute bullshit isn’t somehow tactical gifting.
The Kavernackle made a couple videos on it (despite him saying he was going on break right befroe it happened) I don’t watch streamers and the vas tmajority of leftists youtubers are video essayists. the only ones i followed that aren’t like that. Are S4A (Sort of) who covered it, and kavernackle. So I’m not sure what you are refering too. Idk if i’d call them leftist media. though. They aren’t really big enough for that. Especially S4A. Kavernackle vuideos rae more covering how peopel react ot it than the event itself though tbf.
