Image, sourced from this article, is of George Bush in 2002 meeting with María Corina Machado, who was even then being trained as a figure to oppose Venezuelan socialism, and very briefly succeeded with the Carmona Decree. Now the latest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, she has begged the Zionist entity to drop bombs on the Venezuelan people.
As of me writing these sentences, it appears that the ceasefire in Gaza is underway. Zionist ceasefires are, of course, an oxymoron - not only in the grand sense that their work to continue genocidal atrocities against others locally and regionally will not cease until the Zionist entity’s occupation of Palestine is overthrown and Palestinians can resume the governance of their territory - but also in the literal sense; that bombings and shootings are often only merely reduced, and rarely cease entirely (as was/is the case on their northern border with Lebanon). Nonetheless, hopefully the population can receive some aid, and the long process of rebuilding can begin.
On the other side of the world, it seems increasingly likely that a new war is set to begin. Because the US is eschewing the usual process of generating pro-war propaganda and casus bellis (aside from a laughably transparent Nobel Peace Prize award) and seems content to just skip straight to the “bomb and depose” step, it’s quite hard to predict what precisely they want to do. Anything seems to be on the table - from freely striking Venezuelan territory where “drug dealers” are to try and prompt a Venezuelan response, to assassinating Maduro and/or his generals and hoping a power vacuum can be filled with compradors, to attempting to outright invade Venezuela and establish direct American control over important government sites. All appear to be possibilities, though as of right now, the most drastic measures seem unlikely due to their difficulty.
We know that the US has almost totally abandoned diplomatic communication with Venezuela, and that the US has deployed warships, a nuclear submarine, F-35s, surveillance planes, and at least 4,000 military personnel to the Caribbean, with some sources putting the numbers higher. Some people have suggested that the point is to try and force Maduro into a situation where he must begin hostilities, or be seen as weak and perhaps overthrown from within. It is at least encouraging that Maduro is not like Allende in Chile, and is taking this situation extraordinarily seriously; the masses are being trained and mobilized in the event of an invasion, and military drills are ongoing. Venezuela has no real capacity to stop the US from attacking and bombing them, but it is much more possible to prevent a West-friendly puppet from gaining meaningful control of the country. A comprador might be able to make a brief statement or decree in a Venezuelan city saying that Chavismo is over, but actual power will hopefully prove very elusive.
2020, and particularly 2022, has clearly become a turning point for the Western imperial system, in which increasingly aggressive and reckless moves are required to keep the system functional (stability is, at this point, out of the question). Unfortunately, this has also resulted in the deaths of many long-lasting, inspiring figures, such as Nasrallah, and many more will certainly die before the empire collapses. If Maduro is assassinated - and I’m having trouble imagining how he won’t be doggedly pursued in the days. weeks, and months to come - I have hope that a successor will rise to continue to lead the Bolivarian Revolution.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don’t want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it’s just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.
Simplicius, who publishes on Substack. Like others, his political analysis should be soundly ignored, but his knowledge of weaponry and military strategy is generally quite good.

This ceasefire has me wondering if we have reached a critical mass of international support here similar to the beginning of the end of apartheid in South Africa. I don’t see a path back to the international status quo Israel had achieved pre-conflict. The hearts and minds of pretty much all young people they had internationally were nearly completely lost by Israel, including the unwavering support of one of their most important international sponsors: The Democratic Party base in the US. Support for Israel has massively cratered, from ~60% down to only 33% amongst self-described democrats in the US. Support for Israel from independents in the US is also down from 75% positive favorability to only 48%. With far more attention drawn to the Palestinian cause, it really does feel like there has been a fundamental change in understanding of the Zionist occupation of Palestine for the average person in the US, whereas it used to be considered a rather balck and white issue of not supporting Israel = fringe position of the far left or antisemitism. Both during and after the Second Intifada in the early 2000s, American opinion on Israel remained steady, never really dropping or rising. This is uncharted territory.
Frankly, I don’t see a way for Israel to claw back that support, especially amongst young people. There is not really any amount of short term propagandizing that can undo multiple years of seeing the brutality of the zionist entity commit atrocities day in and day out directly on the front page of their most consumed media sources. Of course, if there is to be a change in support from the US government it comes with the huge caveat that there will likely be a years-long lag before we see it come to fruition.
I don’t disagree, but I do think it’s important to be cognizant of the impact TikTok and other social media outlets had on changing “normie” opinions on Israel. The ruling class I don’t think fully understood how traditional media sources are totally irrelevant to anyone under 40 before Oct 7. But they sure as hell do now, and they’re not getting caught unprepared again. We are going to see a full on clamp down on anything pro-Palestine while the hasbara will flow twenty-fold on every platform. Reddit is probably the most open right now but I expect that to change, no reason Ellison couldn’t buy that too. In the end I don’t think that will be decisive but that’s a huge headwind we have to face and I spend an inordinate amount of time thinking about how we counter it, because we do have to counter it.
I do think we are on the South Africa path except the US is far more invested in Israel than they ever were in SA. Support for Israel in the US could entirely evaporate (even among Evangelicals) and I don’t think it would change a thing. That’s why I think we need to really push BDS to the next level.
Also, I think it’s worth noting that even though dismantling apartheid was a huge win, it didn’t do much at dismantling the colonial economic power structures. Civil and political freedoms are huge, but make no mistake, the white power structure in SA gave those up in order to maintain economic control. The corollary to Israel I think is them “allowing” an actual sovereign Palestine to exist as a nation, but with the West Bank carved up. So not true liberation, same as SA. Then again, it seems to me that Israel is far more fascistic than apartheid SA ever was, so who knows in the face of increasing international pressure it’s also possible that they just slam on the gas pedal.
Yeah I always fear that the “solution” is always going to be a liberal one like South Africa and think you are spot on in recognizing that if America sees the writing on the wall, they are going to force through a two state status-quo solution with the fully bantustanned West Bank. At the very least one would hope to expel the settlers from the West Bank, but Israel will obviously never recall the settlers unless met with serious force, and it wont ever be met with serious force with the U.S. on its side.
It’s hard to even imagine the conditions that would result in an actual one state solution of Palestine with adequate reparations for the Palestinian population and diaspora.
They are going to put so much money into trying to recover goodwill, the media push will be remarkable. Expect every influencer and media company to be taking a check straight from the
government for the foreseeable future
Yea there’s going to be a massive propaganda war incoming, especially in regards to international Forensic experts reporting war crimes and the eventual death count that will come out of this. It’s going to be incredibly important to keep pushing for Palestinians.
Important to note they have been doing this since 10/7, the amount of propaganda online, even the paid influencers who were exposed, any tactic they bring out, we can identify from its use over the last 2 years
Yeah it’s already been confirmed all over tiktok that many creators were offered huge sums of money to post about Israel and categorically refused it and posted the evidence as well. None that I can recall directly, but basically it caused a huge controversy on tiktok because people who had never spoken about Israel were suddenly talking about it positively. Obviously they were instructed to not talk about it, but they were constantly being called out by other creators or the comment section
will they vote for it as priority over burger prices? no? then it’s a romantic view. there is only bds, same as it was.
Certainly not trying to do ISRAEL-IS-FINISHED-posting. Of course BDS is the only way to actually progress on that front, but getting to the point where BDS becomes more impactful because most people are interested in doing it is also important
one would think so, and yet, where are politicians promoting it? news figures? list of bds companies is rather small (aside from bigger list from the un/albanese), but all you get is vague words about bds (even that not from politicians, of course). Would be nice if anyone vaguely leftist would conclude their program/article/podcast with a list of companies every time, but alas.
i think i’m fairly cynical about this: unions (in satan) won’t do jackshit (they either benefit from it or are not involved, like sympathy strike from starbucks is not exactly a leverage), politicians will try to “that was a long time ago”, so the only thing left is bottom up consumer behavior, which doesn’t work typically, but with widespread disgust, it is the time to promote it, now and before.
(that’s leaving aside the big ones, which average treatlerite can’t imagine their life without - fifa/google/tiktok)
does zohran or lmaocia finish his videos with boycott cisco/hp/intel? no? because burgers. same for whatever greens in uk do, they campaign on vague responsibility, but they don’t offer something that is feasible now, not that well known and can be done by people regardless of affiliations.
Sure all of those would be great progress, but none of them would be possible without a base level cultural awareness that the situation is disastrously fucked up as it currently stands. No domestic pressure will ever arrive at those institutions until a critical mass of people actually care enough to do something AND think they have to power to do something. That’s why it’s so important that enough young people have actually been turned so hard against Israel
like they were in 2021? young people will forget/get treats/get annoyed with lack of immediate success/think they’ve done something already in protests
In that case I guess I’m supposed to believe that you just came into this world with the correct opinions on all of these issues and haven’t learned anything along the way?
no, i’m frustrated that people highlighting zionazi crimes be like “this deserves hague” (not gonna happen) instead of “this crime is sponsored by sodastream”. and young people are especially susceptible to changing circumstances, lack of revolutionary rapture, etc. While boycotts requires just two decisions: when you start it and when you end it, be it via betrayal of prior commitments (which in this case are truly minimal, only google and amazon are kinda hardmode ones) or a win.
companies in non-natsec fields would drop pisrael over even 5% drop in revenues.
and who do we suppose would be participating in said boycott?
It looks like the plan is to consolidate all media. The Ellisons have the Skydance+Paramount merger (CBS) seem to want to steal TikTok and want to buy up Warner Bros Discovery (CNN), Bezos is exerting even more editorial control over WaPo, Facebook and Google are unbanning the most annoying Nazis from their platforms, and Musk has Xitter of course.
Fortunately they’re so fucking greedy they won’t be able to stop themselves from enshitifying everything and people will probably just stop using their platforms.
They’re 100% going to ruin Tiktok’s algorithm because they’re going to use AI to “fix” it. You just need one person to plant a seed that’s “the Chicoms don’t know anything about coding. We need to fix their shoddy code with AI.”
Thank god the rest of the world is spared from that
These algorithms aren’t static objects. You need human labor to constantly tweak and modify them. So, they can’t just leave the code as is, which leaves the door wide open for some techbro suggesting that they use AI to “improve” the algorithm.
I thought this was only within their TikTok USA version of the app.
It doesn’t really mean anything until it means everything. Unfortunately I don’t see how any of this is gonna be forced on government in foreseeable future
Neither do I, but it all has to start somewhere, and it’s far less likely to ever happen if the population of the Zionist’s #1 guarantor are generally in favor of the arrangement
I don’t think we’ve reached critical mass yet. Having said that, I mean “reaching critical mass” to be people forming lynch mobs whenever they see Israeli tourists or kristalnachting Jewish businesses. At a certain point, people’s hatred and contempt of the Zionist entity will spill over to random Israelis and Jewish people regardless if they are Zionist or not. People will take matters to their own hands and people will not stop with boycotts.
We are fast approaching a time when a synagogue gets firebombed and online discourseTM is arguing whether the arsonist is an anti-Semite or an anti-Zionist.
Well if that’s your metric it’s already kind of happening. Hard to draw that line and say that random acts of antisemitic violence is what critical mass of anti-Israel stances will look like
