For cuteness, I’d have to go with the basic “cat ears only” or hidden human ears, but for practicality… four cat ears, top and sides. Imagine how well you could locate sounds with those!

this is also what I prefer, having both (cat and human ears) is an interesting premise if it was paid attention too but if it’s just usual catpersons, then just cat ears on top.

Not at all. Cats have ears on top of their head and ears shaped like that for a reason. Having em like that would defeat the purpose of a lot of their design like being able to rotate and being cupped af for good directional hearing. Theyre like antennae.
