Did you know Luigi may have been chosen for his brother’s name because the similar sounding Japanese word 類似 (ruiji) means imitation? It makes sense, because Luigi’s character design is just an imitation of Mario’s that’s slimmer, taller, and in green.

Let’s hope this doesn’t mean there are going to be any Luigi imitations, or copycats if you will.
