I doubt you can haul a full sized fridge in a Civic. I used to know a guy with an appliance store that did his deliveries with a small truck, so this isn’t just an unlikely thing, it is real for somebody.
So? Most people do things other than work. I miss my truck because \ when I keep finding jobs my car cannot do. Most of the time the car is better, but the truck could do everything the car could (other than affordable), while the car cannot do things that a truck could.
Give me a compact wagon like a BMW 3 series and I could. I have a compact 3 series sedan (same class size as a Civic) and I can haul a ridiculous amount of stuff with it. From over a yard of mulch to 10’ lengths of lumber/sofit/trim etc.
Vans do no secure loads other. You need chains for that.
Many things don’t care about weather.
Vans are not hard to break into, though I will grant this.
Vans don’t let the gases out if my welding cylinder leaks.
Vans have height limits lower than the bridges.
“Pickup”, it’s a sport cute missing some roof.
It’s needed.
It’s pointless. Any “truck” stuff this thing can do I could do with a Honda Civic.

Oh please. 99% of pickup buyers have a desk job.

I’ve seen someone transport a full-size fridge in a 125cc scooter. Of course you can do it with any car, you just use roof bars.
Utility van does a better job at this. Trucks are nearly pointless. No one needs a pickup.
That is debatable. Trucks work well, and for this a truck is much smaller since you don’t need to fit it inside.
Finding a small truck is hard though, they haven’t had them in the US in 20 plus years.
Trucks don’t secure loads. Trucks don’t protect from weather. Trucks don’t prevent theft.

Again pros and cons, both have a place
A civic without a roof or back seats. Nice to see that option in an ev too.
Toyota needs to bring the Hilux BEV here. A real EV truck that is smaller than a full size truck.
Can’t because of the chicken tax tariff.
