That cat is Doraemon, a time-traveling robot cat. Idk why it’s not a more popular series in the English-speaking world.
Doraemon is great. The video games were not my cuppa, though.
I think it’s mostly just that it wasn’t licensed. Maybe it was considered too old in the anime boom of the late-90s/early 2000s, so it never got an official release.
