By most accounts, Speaker Mike Johnson inherited a House Republican majority in disarray after the sudden ouster of his predecessor last month.

But as Johnson, R-La., tries to rebuild that slim majority, he’s fast running into the same hard-right factions and divisions that Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., was unable to tame. That’s disrupting the party’s agenda, shelving priorities and leaving gnawing questions about any leader’s ability to govern.

Why doesn’t he pray to his god for his situation to improve? I thought that’s how that works for them?

It doesn’t work if you just pray. You also have to insult the gays and punish the poor so that God will be happier and more likely to grant your three wishes. Then he can finally become a real boy!

No no no. God’s will only applies to things Republicans like. Like Trump, the Bushes, etc. Anything that they dont like like the Clintons, Obama, etc. are clearly the work of THE DEVIL, and need to be eradicated with prejudice (something they are well known for).

Weird how that works isn’t it? 🤔

Seems to me this is simply God punishing Johnson because he isn’t doing well enough with his porn struggles.

What I don’t get is why god isn’t taking it out on his son instead? It’s the kids responsibility, the whole nation knows it so why doesn’t the big man upstairs?

They want to break the government. They don’t care about our country’s future or how many people are hurt by it. Why is this so hard for some people to understand!? They’re not *even trying to be subtle about it any more!

Dysfunction is a feature of the Republican Party. Their entire political platform is to prove that government doesn’t work, so they do their darndest to flush it down the toilet every time they get the chance.

TBH, I think Johnson wants to rule. He has a divine mandate from his god to create Christendom 2.0. It’s the rest of the GOP that doesn’t give a shit, because they do their little culture war song and dance, and their followers think they’ve done something constructive.

The party of “government bad” can’t govern. Who would have thought?

It’s almost as if manipulating your base for decades and ensuring that they detach completely from reality has consequences in the real world. Like completely unrealistic expectations.

Just porno, not gay porno. Not as though it being gay porno would change the situation at all.

Okay I could be wrong but the article I read I thought I remembered it specifically saying gay porno. But yea I don’t care what kind of porno it is either.

Except that he is outspoken against the lgbt community which would actually change the situation.

Like his suit is the only thing keeping all manner of pure evil from bursting forth and wriggling all over the podium?

      Yes, very creepy vibes.
