God is teaching us that people with fake tits and rich assholes will rebuild next week after this is all over. See? Poor people, you need to learn from the example! Just get money from your dad’s account and buy a new house in LA Jolla!
That looks absolutely epic
Silver linings.
This is better than their AI commercial.
This is the Eaton Fire in Pasadena and surrounding areas - video from here
“Would you like fires with that?”
“Would you like to supersize your fire for 50 cents extra?”
How much to take them back?
Ehhh my big Mac is extra crispy and I only wanted it crispy!
Isn’t it Burger King who is supposed to be the one with flame grilled burgers?
McDonald’s had to step up their game somehow, but I think they went too far…
A gif that perfectly represents what it’s like in America these days.
Needs someone driving by on their way to work
gif? It’s a still image for me on Voyager.
Video with sound to me on voyager. Hit play?
Hm. Works on another device where I’m not logged in to an account. Couldn’t make out any settings that differ that might cause it.
No play button or anything. Just a static image.
Weird.
On Boost it’s a video with sound (really!).
Yeah it’s a webm, uploaded through Boost.
On Summit as well. Video with sound.

Donald’sDantes InfernoI wasn’t even supposed to be here today.
Holy shit, I mean I’d already known palm trees are like candles but they are like firefrackers in harsh wind!
This is not a timelapse?
There’s audio, this is real-time.
You can also see the vehicles in the background.
Yes I know, this is just the sound my brain makes when it is pleading with my senses to tell me I’m not seeing what I’m seeing.
Is this wind intensity caused by the fire?
It can be, but I don’t think it’s the case here - we have Santa Anas with sustained 40mph winds and 100mph gusts in some areas, and that is without any fire. The wind is also caused by the air moving in from the inland deserts that is very dry (often <5% humidity) and hot as well due to compression heating.
There are reports that the Palisades Fire grew from 10 acres when it began to 200 acres in just 12 minutes, due to conditions like this.
That’s between 8 and 10 on the Beaufort scale, holy mother of holy mothers!
that looks so badass tho
holy shit… is the wind always that strong there?
It’s exceptionally strong right now due to the Santa Ana winds, and the convection forces from the fire.
Yes and no. Southern California has this thing called “Santa Ana Winds” that happen because there’s mountains close to the ocean… but this is like the climate change version of that.
