He would probably say something like “Wow it seems like that part of your childhood still resonates with you today. Why do you think that is?” He’s also a therapist, you didn’t mention it.
The issue is that, while we might rightly object to some of the jokes they made, they nonetheless also had great senses of humor (at least part of the time) and that was their main appeal.
