Speak for yourself. My acne is finally gone, I look super sophisticated, and they never really wanted my bulging muscles anyways.

Good luck getting better appearance with age after you step over the 25yo threshold tho

After fully maturing we can only age, sadly

Yeah, but as you get older people a certain number of years younger than you start looking like legit children. And personally, I feel like a wider range of life experiences (on average) matter more to women than to men.

But also, this chart is flawed in that we don’t know how many people per age/per gender were asked, how they calculated variation, what the error rate is, or even what the source of the data is. It’s literally just a Microsoft Office chart.

I’m not saying I want a relationship with a twenty year old or that women older than that are categorically unattractive, but as far as looks alone go, when I started puberty at 11, I thought women around 20 were the best-looking. When I was 20, I thought women around 20 were the best looking. And now that I’m 40, I still think women around 20 are the best-looking. Maybe I’ll change my mind as I keep getting older but I doubt it. Having to accept this is simply part of having to accept the more general pattern of physical decline produced by aging - I don’t look bad and women my age don’t look bad, but both they and I don’t look as good as we used to.

That’s interesting. I think women are most attractive in their late 20s to early 30s. Younger, to me, they still have child-like features. Older, the effects of aging start to take place. As for men, 30s and 40s is where it is.

It’s not really that far from the stereotypes

Women are attracted to things like wealth and stability which generally get better as men age because they want someone who can take care of them

Men have an unlimited supply of baby making material but women can only do 1 baby per 9 months (and even then depending what year you’re in (say 100,000 years ago up until 200 years ago) the quality of healthcare wasn’t great and child mortality was high) so men prioritise women who are healthier and younger in order to prioritise the chances of a young healthy baby being born and the mother living. Shame on men eh?

“Advanced maternal age” is a term that describes anyone who is 35 or older and pregnant. This is the age when your chances of pregnancy complications increase. Some of these complications are higher rates of miscarriage and a greater chance of having a baby with a genetic disorder. Advanced maternal age is the newer and preferred name for a geriatric pregnancy.

      https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/22438-advanced-maternal-age

I guess saying that women 35 and over are geriatric was hurting some feelings 😅

That sort of evolutionary-biology approach can explain why men are all attracted to women of the same age, but it fails to explain why women aren’t all attracted to men of the same age. Even if women don’t have to be as selective with regard to age because men’s fertility doesn’t decline the way that women’s does, there should still be an absolute ideal age at which a man is most capable of being a good mate.

There is. Your username. Same for women.

Simply, to me they do not look better than a middle aged person at all. They look young and act young. Which they are, and they should. But as an adult almost old enough to be their parent…they are not attractive at all. Ick.

GenX dude who peaked around my late 40s, early 50s. At 54, on the downside now. :(

As to women, loads of the pretty/popular girls went downhill fast after high school and so many of the nerdy girls bloomed.
