I’m admittedly pretty ignorant about the whole thing
I always keep this one on hand. It’s a TED talk by a venture capitalist who was born in China, went to collage in the United States. He gives a brief overview on how China’s governance is structured, and does some light compare/contrasting between it and liberal democracies. I’d suggest it more for someone who’s resistant to even considering China a democracy.
This is excellent except for Eric’s insistence that this is an abandonment of marxism rather than the successful implementation of the DOTP and correct adaptation to the existing material conditions. His insistence that these features of the party are an abandonment of “marxist dogma” instead of the result of marxism being a science that changes and adapts based on new information is the ultimate flaw in his analysis.
He has the perspective that marxism is a religion instead of a science, every incorrect thing he says stems from this.
so with this in mind is the video still worth watching
Yeah it’s fine, pretty decent, he’s just missing the crucial element. That’s not necessarily a bad thing for libs though because COMMUNISM is scary or w/e.
Perfect, I’ll give this a watch
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
Not really “condensed,” but Roland Boer’s Socialism in Power: On the History and Theory of Socialist Governance is pretty great from what I’ve skimmed.
Cheers, comrade
You as well!

@Alaskaball posted a master reference to it some time ago.
thx comrades
Basically everyone asks Xi to push the button but he has to wait for the paperwork first

This is what I tell people but then people want to know what the button is and it’s like a whole thing to explain the button
Someone posted this thread a while ago, pretty quick summary
The CPPCC is so interesting to me, because it’s like what if the House of Lords was cool and good, actually
there’s a really good interactive webpage that makes it really easy to understand. it shows you layer by layer how their government is structured. i will have to find it when i get home so feel free to reply to this and remind me in case i forget.
leaving this here as a reminder for myself for whenever you reply to the other comrade because this sounds super interesting
after doing some digging i believe it came from fudan university, however that page appears to be completely scrubbed from the internet and i can’t find it anywhere. maybe someone else could have some luck? it was a really good resource. it explained it visually so it made it really simple to understand.
i found some bullshit from southchinamorningpost that appears to be trying to ape what fudan did but it has no detail and it obviously a bunch of anticommunist propaganda so fuck all that
Cool thanks, I hope you can find it!
I found this page, which may not be what you’re thinking of, but might be helpful anyway.
“Ok, so imagine a burger…”
