I’m admittedly pretty ignorant about the whole thing

I always keep this one on hand. It’s a TED talk by a venture capitalist who was born in China, went to collage in the United States. He gives a brief overview on how China’s governance is structured, and does some light compare/contrasting between it and liberal democracies. I’d suggest it more for someone who’s resistant to even considering China a democracy.

This is excellent except for Eric’s insistence that this is an abandonment of marxism rather than the successful implementation of the DOTP and correct adaptation to the existing material conditions. His insistence that these features of the party are an abandonment of “marxist dogma” instead of the result of marxism being a science that changes and adapts based on new information is the ultimate flaw in his analysis.

He has the perspective that marxism is a religion instead of a science, every incorrect thing he says stems from this.
