    The Egyptians had no word for dying, they just said “going West”.

    Not sure how true that is, but i remember it for whatever reason.

      Given that most/many ancient cultures had a good handle on astronomy, it would make sense if they associated west with death. Since the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, it makes some logical sense to associate the east with beginnings of things and the west with endings

      TBF it seems most of her history in the US was in entertainment and wearing a skirt made of fake bananas. Not really required learning. Her real activity seems to have taken place in France working with the French Resistance and civil rights, and unfortunately her civil rights work here was overshadowed by MLK.

    Children at a primary school in eastern France found a strange attraction next to their playground this week: a skeleton sitting upright, peeking out of a circular pit.
