These are the conversations happening in every police station, every day.
So when they steal somebody’s device they just leave it on the desk where everyone hangs out with nothing to do but boast of their own crimes? Not put it in a drawer or something? Seems like it would be easy enough to let these dopes take your phone while it was streaming audio to a server.
What if the device had one of those defective exploding batteries, or it was full of bed bugs or something.
Could we give them more training? We can do it as overtime if necessary, spare no expense!
Over the next four hours, it captured one female police officer saying: ‘I illegally stop, search IC3 (black) females and then I arrest them.’
Also
In one section, a police officer can be heard talking about a massage parlour.
He said: ‘I got there, what I find a bit strange is that each room has like a card reader in it.’
Another officer asked: ‘Where is this.’
He responded: ‘The Chinese well-being place, it does happy endings.’
He was asked whether he received hand stimulation and he replied: ‘pretty much, yeah.’
Someone responded: ‘Honestly though, I’m going back outside of work hours.’
Two cops admitting to crimes very clearly in front of their colleagues, on recorded video.
They said: ‘Following that investigation, a number of matters were addressed through the appropriate misconduct processes.
“We have investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing”
Not to defend any of this truly awful shit, but I didn’t think engaging in prostitution was a crime.
In many places, it is not illegal to offer services, but it is still illegal to solicit them.
What kind of job is it where people are just casually talking about hand jobs? At the very least, taken out if any context, a workplace where chit chat about who made whom come and by what means is normalized is likely also one where sexual harassment is completely acceptable.
I’m sure the point of the conversation was to reinforce the idea of power differential between their club and all others. Going to a business like that when you have just attended on police matters and they will recognize you is an inherent threat and the subtext is that an abusive relationship will be established or reinforced.
Imagine if a school teacher wraps up a parent teacher meeting by enquiring on matters in which the parent is in business. E.g. you have gone to see the teacher because your child is having a difficult time and the teacher immediately starts asking how much you would charge for graphic design or landscaping or if you’ll loan them money. Your business need not be illegal and there need not be anything intrinsically dicey about the transaction, but the context in which it takes place renders it unethical. And my example is significantly toned down, without any violence or anything.
I entirely agree and then some. I feel like my comment has been widely misconstrued as some measure of condonement, when it was just one on legality. I’ll reiterate that I’m not defending shit.
Obligatory redsails:
Hexbear stop trotting out Esperanza Fonseca every time sex work comes up challenge.
She is a fucking traitor who has worked with far right christian organizations to demonize sex work (https://hexbear.net/post/237975).
Read this instead: https://hexbear.net/post/3739639
I agree with the article, I been saying what it says for decades. But I was only talking about the legality.
i don’t want american cops anywhere near sex workers
i don’t want american cops anywhere
near sex workers
Not brothels, only independent sex work. Any sex work from a massage parlour with more than one worker is brothel work.
Ah, now I understand, thanks
It is unless in Vegas AFAIK.
jesus christ. the amount of crazy shit they confessed to in that short window of time is fucking ridiculous. even the internal spokesperson characterized it as 17+ complaints!
even at the stupidest and most juvenile asshole places ive worked, in a random 4 hour window of a camera being placed perfectly near the bozo hot zone you might catch somebody farting as a taunt and a few G or R bombs lobbed casually.
cops are just like apparently only capable of talking in slurs, about the crimes they commit, or bragging how they’re going to go pay for someone poor to give them a handjob after their shift.
seems to me like police stations should all be wired for sound and cctv in every room and all of it is sent to a remote server where anyone in the public can open the feed or listen to the archives.
If it’s a male-only crowd you’d get something demeaning about women within the first 5 mins, but yeah cops are on another level.

This is a great idea.
other than the room where you talk to your lawyer privately
yeah, tragically that is probably the only room currently surveilled at present.
I feel like this happens every couple of years and it’s always horrible.
Just some slight reform and everything will be peachy

'We also reviewed arrest and stop and search records for the officers involved and found no wider evidence of discriminatory behaviour. This investigation is currently subject to a complainant’s right to review with the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
Admitting these people had made dozens, likely hundreds of false arrests looks extremely bad.
We should record more police stations without their knowledge. Blast that shit around like a radio. It would be fun.
Cameras and microphones have never been smaller just saying!
Bit idea: claim to be pro-life and demand that since public tax dollars fund police stations and they uphold abortion law then we should be entitled to see what our tax dollars buy us. Therefore there should be 24/7 surveillance of police stations
If only they had a bigger budget for “training”!
Crazy it wasn’t even a cop’s bodycam for once
