I really fucking struggle with this. I’m getting older and now I work from home. I’ve never been one for exercise, and it’s so hard to do it for its own sake. I’m starting to develop some health problems, but just going for a short walk every couple hours is a difficult habit to force on myself.

I had really good luck with doing at least something every day to help build a habit. EVERY day, I put on my shoes, and go for a walk. It doesn’t matter if I walk for literally 2 minutes, I consider it a success.

I tell myself “Yes, you don’t wanna walk, but you can do 2 minutes”. Normally, by the time I get walking for 2 minutes, I think “OK, I can do a 15 minute walk since I’m already here”. It worked to trick myself into building an “exercise habit”.

I’ve also had good luck listening to podcasts when I walk. Keeps me from being bored.
