Post the names of youtubers and other internet microcelebs you hate with a burning passion based on vibes alone. I am aware that youtubers are an inherently reactionary group of organisms [1], but some suck at statistically significant levels.

I really hate V-tubers. It’s just the same old reaction slop but behind a creepy 3D anime girl and with a creepy high pitched voice. And they really love nazism and pedophilia.

It’s like near universal if I accidentally click on a vtuber livestream either the tuber themselves or their comments section will be saying something hateful and racist. I legit don’t get it. Maybe it’s something to do with them being kind of creepy and unsettling, only someone who barely speaks to actual humans could find that appealing, and it just so happens that the dregs of the internet are also racist creeps.

CGPGrey is at the very least flirting with “rationalism” and might be the smuggest man in existence His content isn’t offensive, he doesn’t hurt anyone, and he’s not actively a bad guy in any meaningful way that I know of. But you asked for youtubers we dislike for their vibes, so that’s my answer.

He actively spreads misinformation, as most of his videos are based on a single source, and he never actually examines how legit the source is. His stuff always “makes sense” and sounds well thought out, but it actively makes its audience dumber, while think they are learning something.

His worst offender is his Americapox videos, in which he literally says Native Americans “are at the bottom of the (video game) tech tree.” because their native animals were too hard to domesticate. Treating development of cultures and technology as a linear video game style progression is bad enough, but the source for his pair of videos is “Guns Germs and Steel” a notorious pop-history book that has recieved a lot of negative criticism from historians for its inaccurate and infantilising depictions of native American civilisations, amongst other things, painting the conquest of the Americas as an “us or them” style thing, portraying it as “inevitable” and making absurd and insulting claims about native American groups, like the Inca being too stupid to know what an ambush was, because they didn’t have horses.

And when the innacuracies and downright racism of his source was called out, CGPGrey doubled down, instead of admitting fault, first he did the standard youtuber tantrum of “if you don’t like it, make your own video/I have more subscribers than you which means I’m right” sort of thing, and then when that didn’t work, he declared his videos were a “joke” and he was just trolling historians with them.

Dude claims to be an intellectual, but can’t ever admit the possibility that he is wrong or did poor research, in turn I think that means we can’t really trust anything he produces. It’s the “guy with a vaguely British accent says a thing with authority, so it must be intelligent and correct.” sort of content.

I was mostly ambivalent towards him until the america pox video, but that definitely turned me off since I had at least two history professors spend lectures talking about how bad guns germs and steel was as a book and threatened to kick out anyone who used it as a source for their classes.

I also briefly listened to his podcast and as smug as he comes off from YouTube, it is controlled compared to his actual real life bullshit. Listen to him decry people who keep mementos of things from their lives and shame his wife for wanting to put pictures of things she likes. This utilitarian only wants things in his life that he actually uses, and I’d be shocked if he hasn’t been divorced at this point for his avoidance of all connections to emotions. He also shilled tesla cars alot, weird he didn’t do any due diligence on Elon and just wanted a cool computer car regardless of who was making it.

Also he would constantly complain that people are too hard him so he takes longer to verify his content is accurate but then his video is always just one source as mentioned and he’s just summarized it. Why did that take 8 months of effort? I hate him as well.

The whole platform. It’s the 21st century’s reinvention of trash tv, but worse. At least in the days of broadcast tv everyone watched the same shitty broadcast so led to a sense of a collective experience and the slop was made by tv production workers in a union.

I still can’t believe that I used to watch this piece of shit for years.

He was pretty entertaining and funny when he was small-time. I was surprised at how fun he made bad games. He lost me, though, when he paid people to say horrendous shit. Showed exactly what kind of shitter he was.

Of course homeless kids living in the global south are going to take money for writing signs. He could have just given them the money with no strings attached and used his platform to show how awful poverty can be. Instead, he made them dance around like circus animals. Might as well funded a human zoo.

I don’t really like any “drama” YouTubers, like Keem, Spill, or Iilluminaughtii. It all seems like low effort slop with literally no value.

Marques Brownlee – typical tech bro, was speeding in a school zone for one of his videos.

Linus Tech Tips – so many things, but the worst was probably how they treat their employees. Emily is cool though.

Mark Rober – seems like a genuinely awful human being, has a series where he humiliates and catches porch pirates, because obviously the solution to stealing is to lock them all up. Collabs with MrBeast.

theprimagen – AI bro, over the top, loud.

Almost every YouTuber who makes tech-related content tbh.

I barely even know them, but the Green brothers, specifically Hank Green, are self-important dipshits who are not nearly as smart, funny or influential as they believe they are and i will laugh at their downfall

the guy just looks and sounds like a dweeb and thinks he runs tiktok

John Green is slightly less annoying, and mostly seems to stay in his lane, but Hank green is totally insufferable because the dude will not ever accept that he could be wrong about something. The thing he refuses to budge on? Liberalism won’t save the planet. Legitimately thought Biden’s plans for climate were going to begin the solution, and couldn’t see how it was the end game for Democrats, that was it. They weren’t doing anything afterwards they spent too much political capital putting forward something that did next to nothing to solve the problem and failed to address the root cause of climate change (oil and gas extraction which continued to climb under Biden).

I’m sure there is more from both of them but that’s what drove me insane listening to their crap.

They were some of the first bloggers on YouTube. I’ve watched some Crash Course, which is quick explanations of high school curriculum funded by PBS, which the Greens helped start. It’s a nice refresher for adults and helpful for kids taking AP classes or niche electives.

But yes, they’re turbo-lib soyboys. Extremely off-putting for a lot of people and forget they’re only teaching high school material. Like take it down a notch, you are not on a panel reviewing someone’s graduate thesis. You’re a meme to make up for how shit our public education system is.

Nearly all reaction channels because they all turn into nazi lite chuds. They’ll be seeing a fucking Confederate say the dumbest shit and they’ll be like “hmmm you know he has a point”. Its like seeing a person radicalized in realtime. I hate these people with every fiber of my being. I hate how stupid they are and I hate that their audience is every bit as brain dead.

I hate how influential these talentless hacks are and the fact that so many get influenced by them and throw away their weak convictions and just hop on racist dick. I despise how the Poc ones buck their eyes or play to a racial stereotype for their followers anf know exactly what the fuck they’re doing but act dumb. I absolutely despise… Let me not go further it will be fed posting.

But I still watch and enjoy Drew Gooden. He’s just funny, and seems to not be completely brainwormed. Correct me if I’m wrong tho lol

A few off the top of my head:

    • Mark Laita (Soft White Underbelly): poverty porn sexpest
    • Andrew Callaghan (All Gas No Brakes): A phrase I’ve heard a lot with regards to the flaws of horizontal organizations is that if you don’t pick a leader, the media will pick one for you. Andrew is the kind of person who will pick a lunatic for you. Also a sex pest.
    • MatPat: I think he’s a sex pest. I have no evidence or credibility.
    • MrBeast: No reasons needed
    • Kurtzgezuart: I don’t respect them enough to spell their name right. Bourgeoisie dogs.
